Borrowing elements from 90’s alternative blueprint, World of Desire plays reverb-laden shoegaze with a hypnotic wall-of- sound and ethereal, droning vocals reminiscent of bands like Slowdive, Swervedriver, and Dinosaur Jr. However, the band detracts from the formula to add in bludgeoning heavy riffs that push the comfort of genre favorites like Failure and Hum to the border of post-metal and doom. ... more
